Camp Contact is an experiential and experimental laboratory that asks the question “What is human connection, and how can we do it better?" by providing a space for Contact Improvisation Dance, Acro Yoga, Authentic Relating, Somatics, & Metamodern Thought. We shine a potent beam of illumination on all that we hold sacred: personal space, boundaries, definition of self, energy, & physicality.
Camp Contact is a co-creating community of dancers, movers, yogis, acro yogis, and people committed to authentic relating. We gather and fully engage at various burns & festivals across the East Coast of the US and at Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada each year. We set up camp with dance floors, a kitchen, a steam bath & tents, and offer classes and workshops while sharing in community for the duration of these festivals. Through the practices of Contact Improvisation, Authentic Relating, Acro Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, Meditation, and more, we seek to live a fuller, deeper life, exploring what it means to be connected with fulfillment.

How:
We attend various festivals across the United States, with a strong preference for festivals that follow Burning Man's 10 principles.
History:
Camp Contact was started in the Spring of 2007 when a few friends got together, built a dome, and went to Playa Del Fuego, a regional Burning Man event that, at the time, was held in Delaware. Since then, we've expanded to going to 9+ festivals a year. In 2008, Darrell took on leadership of Contact Camp at Burning Man, which had been running since 2005, and renamed it Camp Contact.
